Summary: Storm Dudley is expected to hit Ireland and Met Éireann have issued a yellow wind warning for most of the country. While this shouldn’t have much effect on our overall operations from a data centre point of view, it could affect engagement with our customer service teams whom are dotted around the country working remotely.
In addition our fixed line broadband customers, including Broadband resellers should be on high alert due to the probably likelihood of power outages, phone line damage and fibre cable damage. Our teams will be monitoring our network during the next 48 hours and engaging with our wholesale broadband partners to raise faults where necessary.
In addition to the above, Storm Eunice is due to hit Ireland on Friday and we’re monitoring that situation as we get closer to it.
We’ll likely post a further update or a new status post depending on how that pans out from here.
Update: Thursday 17th @ 16:30
Storm Eunice is on track to hit Ireland from 03:00 Friday morning the 18th. We expect wide spread power outages nationwide which will have an impact on broadband availability in the West and Southern parts of the country. Especially those areas that have a red warning. In addition fibre lines and phone lines will get damaged during this outage.
