Blacknight Hosting Network Status

Christmas network change freeze –

In line with standard industry best practice, we will be implementing a change freeze over the Christmas Holiday period again this year.

What is a change freeze?
Engineering changes to our core network, shared hosting infrastructure and dedicated-server infrastructure will be suspended for the duration of the freeze.
Change freezes are normal practice within the Hosting industry, due to the lower availability of staff and parts across our suppliers, reduced technical staff available within our engineering team and the heightened reliance on IT some customers have.
Change freeze minimises the risk to our infrastructure and service availability.
In the event of a service outage, our engineers will continue to resolve issues as normal, and these may require some emergency change.

If you require planned changes such as the addition of new dedicated infrastructure during this window, please get in touch as soon as possible as these will need to be pre-approved and may be declined if they present a significant risk to service. Please note that delivery estimates for equipment and spares can vary over the holiday period and we cannot guarantee normal  turn-around times on server deployments if we do not have them in stock.

How long will the change freeze last?
The change freeze will come into effect at on 23.00 Friday 16th December 2016, and will be lifted at 09:00 on Thursday 5th January 2017.
